Long before I ever dreamed of owning Cannon's Candy & Cake, I had a fascination with history - especially Gettysburg. In fact, I loved it so much that I got a cannon tattoo way before Cannon's was ever a major part of my life. Looking back now, it feels like fate had a sense of humor.
I was born and raised in South Jersey, and as a child, my mom would take me to Cannon's on Chews Landing Road to shop for chocolate and candy-making supplies. More than 30 years later, I never imaged I would one day become the owner of the very business I grew up visiting.
Before entering the confectionery world, I spent more than a decade in the automotive industry as an auto damage adjuster and a tow truck dispatcher. While I enjoyed helping people solve problems, I eventually realized my true passion was creativity, chocolate, and helping people celebrate life's special moments.
In March 2023, I purchased L&S Chocolates from founds Sandy Nunes and Lu Valentino, who have since retired but remain ever faithful friends and mentors. Then, exactly 3 years to the day later, I purchased Cannon's Cake & Candy Supply from Charles and Sandra Cheney, who also retired after decades of serving the South Jersey baking and candy-making community.
Today, those two beloved local businesses have come together as Cannon's Candy and Cake. While the previous owners have retired, I am honored to continue the traditions they built while bringing fresh ideas, expanded services, and a renewed commitment to customer service.
When I'm not in the store, you'll find me spending time with my husband Jerry, my children RJ and Victoria, Victoria's significant other Aidan, and my close knit circle of friends who have become my family since my parents have both passed. I love to read, study the Bible, color, watch historical movies/documentaries, and dabble in professional quality photography. I'm quite the homebody and love doing little side projects to improve both the store and my home.
My favorite part of this business is helping to bring your ideas to life. Whether it's a custom chocolate creation, an edible image, a birthday cake topper, or supplies for your next baking project, I love being part of the memories you'll make and the celebrations you'll never forget.
